Baby Love
There is nothing quite like it, love from a baby.
It is extra special when watching the baby with Leah. In the morning when Leah comes in and he hears her but cannot see her, he becomes very agitated. As soon as she comes into his sight range he begins to giggle & smile.
He has become more vocal the past few days. He mimics oohs and aahs. He also enjoys being sung to. Leah makes up some pretty silly songs and he eats them up.

2 Month Milestones
Louis is developing well. Everyday he does something new or improves on something old.
2 Month Developmental Milestone
• Vocalizes: gurgles and coos - he does this when he wants our attention or just after being nursed and is all happy & full
• Follows objects across field of vision - has a good time with Leah and his toys. She will sit in front of him moving his toys back and forth.
• Notices his hands - they are always in his mouth and it is only a matter of time (short time) before his thumb finds his way into his mouth. I try to distract him when I see his thumb making its way there.
• Holds head up for short periods - He has been holding his head more as of late.
• Smiles, laughs - he laughs at Leah all the time. She smiles constantly. Real genuine smiles. Nothing like it.
• Holds head at 45-degree angle - He is beginning to do hold his head up to the side.
• Makes smoother movements
• Can bear weight on legs
• Lifts head and shoulders when lying on tummy (mini-pushup) - he attempts to lift himself up but isn't quite there yet.
• Turns toward loud sounds - I noticed recently that he is turning towards loud noises. I didn't expect him to do this for a few more weeks.
Other things he has been doing:
He sticks his tongue out at you if you do it to him. He has been imitating ooh and aah sounds. He opens and shuts his hands, you don't find him clutching his hands as often anymore. He definitely recognizes us, even from afar.

Happy Valentine's Day
Louis's 1st Valentine's Day went off without a hitch. He and Leah spent the afternoon with his Grandma & Grandpa while Matt and myself went to see The Wolfman. After we picked them up we had an early dinner at Bertucci's. Next we stopped at Michaels to stock up on some supplies we need for Leah's school project. Louis slept through everything, as usual.

Winter Photo Shoot
We took Leah & Louis to have their pictures taken.
It was a successful photo shoot. Leah was her usual charismatic, photogenic self and Louis was absolutely wonderful. I was impressed with how well he did at his age. He was attentive & very alert. Looked right at the photographer and did not fuss as he was positioned.
The photographer loved working with both of them.
These are some of the proofs from the shoot.

First Snow Day
We bundled up Louis today and took him out in the snow. He wasn't outside for very long and we completely dropped the ball on getting pictures of him out in the snow. Will have to make up for that tomorrow.
Here he is ready to go out.

Sleep
We are lucky to have a baby who self soothes so well. It makes night time wakings & feedings so much easier. Once fed and burped Louis will go back in his napper/bassinet and will fall asleep all on his own. 75% of the time he doesn't even need his pacifier. He will just lay there until sleep takes over.
Leah was the exact opposite as a baby. She had a difficult time self soothing, she spent a lot of time in our bed (some things never change). Swaddling helped her. Louis has hated swaddling after his second week.
It really is true. Every child is different.

Big Boy Clothes
We took Leah & Louis to have Louis's 1 month old portraits taken today. We also had some big sis/lil bro photos taken as well. Louis was so perfect throughout the photo shoot. He let the photographer pose him however she needed to, he let Leah hold him without an issue. He smiled & laughed. No crying or fussing at all. I can't wait to see the proofs tomorrow.
Here are some pictures of Louis in his "big boy" clothes as Leah calls them.
