Bumbo Baby
We bought Louis a Bumbo seat and he loves sitting in it. It is great because he gets to be a part of everything right by our side. We tend to spend a lot of our time on our floor playing games with Leah so its perfect for Louis.

Play Ball
Louis is grasping and holding onto toys now. We were playing catch this afternoon. The bumbo is on the bed but I was right next to him. Never left him unattended.
He knows to look for things now after they've dropped and tries to get them.
He also loves holding onto his rattles and he has figured out they make noise.

The Bronx Zoo
We went to the Bronx Zoo today. Had a great time with Lindsay & her friend Susy & her boys Silas & Jack. After the zoo we stopped at my dad's and spent the evening there. I cooked us dinner & my mom came over.

Wide Awake
Louis was wide awake after being fed tonight. Usually he goes down for the night a lil after 8, not long after Leah. I suspect the fact he slept for nearly 2 hours while at the aquarium messed up his schedule a bit. He refused to stay on the couch tonight while Matt and myself tried to sit & relax. He was onto his tummy and trying desperately to get somewhere.

Seeing the fishies
We went to Atlantis Marine World today.
For the first 2 hours we were there Louis hung out in our new Galaxy Grey Ergobaby carrier. Amazing carrier. Louis weighs at least 16 pounds and you barely feel the extra weight you are carrying. Worth every penny even without the purchase discount I was given.

After waking up and eating some lunch we took Louis to look at some fish. He especially enjoyed the brightly colored ones & the coral reefs.

Changing Time
Louis loves when you lay him down on the changing table. It always manages to get the biggest smiles from him.

Naptime
Leah spent the afternoon with Ruth after her ballet/tap class today. Matt came home and spent the time taking a nap with Louis. Those two really do love to sleep.

On the move
Louis is already attempting to crawl. He rolls onto his stomach, picks himself up and tries to move his legs & arms. He doesn't get anywhere but he seems to love trying.

Happy 4 Months!
4 Month Developmental Milestones
*Smiles, laughs
*Can bear weight on legs
*Coos when you talk to him
*Can grasp a toy
*Rolls over, from tummy to back
*Imitates sounds: "baba," "dada"
*Distinguishes between bold colors - I noticed he is doing this while we were out in Manhattan.
*Plays with his hands and feet - He discovered his feet over the last couple of days. He plays more with his hands than his feet.
Beginning at 4 months some babies can be developmentally ready for solids. We are going to hold off solids until at least 6 months, just as we did with Leah. Louis doesn't show any real interest in food. He also still has his tongue-thrust reflex. No rush in getting started.
He is making huge strides when it comes to his physical development. He can roll from his back to his tummy and even from tummy to his back. He has taken to sleeping on his side or stomach. You put him on his back and come back to find him rolled back on his stomach. We are going to start working on a bedtime routine. Right now he just falls asleep around 9 wherever we are. Usually downstairs on the couch. It would be good to start getting him used to a routine. Make life easier as he gets older.
He loves to play, laugh and smile. He absolutely loves Leah and cannot get enough of her.
His teething is out of control some days and I wouldn't be surprised if he cuts a tooth in the next month or so.
Can't believe it has already been 4 months since he was born.

Ready to go
Louis is ready to go. He does not stay still. Today he rolled from front to back, back to front any time we laid him down on his back. He cannot be left unattended anywhere because when you come back you can not guess where he will end up. I figured out a way to lay him down on the couch with me where he won't roll anywhere so instead of rolling he sits up. He can sit himself up from laying down! He can't really hold himself so he just topples over to the side, lays back down and does it over and over again.
Cannot believe at how agile he is.

Just me & the boy
Today Louis and I went into Manhattan while Leah & Matt spent the day on Long Island. Leah went to the playground and rode her scooter around. Afterward they went to see 'How to Catch a Dragon'.
It was an absolutely beautiful day.
Louis accompanied me all for a walk from 34th Street to Rockefeller Center to Saint Patrick's Cathedral. Whenever in the area I always go in & light a few candles for various people/reasons. Next we walked up to FAO Schwarz then Central Park. We ended our walk at Columbus Circle. Grabbed a delicious Indian meal at Whole Foods & went to Borders for a book signing for one of my favorite authors Christopher Moore.
Louis spent the hour leading up to the signing flirting and charming the people by us. He schmoozed and entertained himself by shoving his fingers in his mouth.

After the book signing we headed farther uptown to 86th Street to pick up a sit n stand stroller for Leah from a family who was selling it on craigslist at a steep discount.
We had the opportunity to see an amazing NYC apartment.
Last but not least we went back to Penn Station & headed home.

I have to say I had a remarkably easy time carrying Louis around in my slings. So much easier getting around the city & public transportation this way than with a clunky stroller. I carried all the baby supplies in my favorite diaper bag. I absolutely love this bag.

It holds plenty, is easily accessible (with a lil practice) while wearing a baby.
I started off the day with Louis in my Hot Sling and then as the day became cooler and I needed a little more support I switched over to the Maya Wrap.

Tea Time with Leah
Louis spent the day with Leah and myself in Manhattan. He came to brunch with us, then the museum. He even met up with his BFF Ethan (my best friend from high school Jasmine's 2 week old boy) and then went to Central Park.
He is a wonderful baby to take out. He rarely fusses and really enjoys being out and about. He can sleep through anything. As long as you feed him, burp him, change him, let him sleep when he is tired AND entertain him you are good to go.
