Fangtastic Halloween

Halloween is a pretty big deal at our house. Leah puts a lot of thought into her costume choice. A whole year's worth. This year she chose vampires for both herself and her little brother. She didn't want to be a 'pretty' vampire. She wanted to have makeup, fangs and blood. We found matching costumes for the two kids. I think I managed to make her pretty and gory. Louis was a cutey going house to house holding his own bag trick or treating for candy he won't be having for a very long time.

The costume was size 24 months but was too short for him. Next time we'll try it out first. I had red Baby Legs but they were in the wash so stars had to do.

Bundled up, it was a bit chilly out.

He is okay. Just took something away from him.

Oh the drama!

Literally 2 seconds later. All fine again.

Unhappy AGAIN.

Happy with the almost perfect Vamp V on his forehead.

Out to dinner

We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Louis enjoyed a bit of everyone's meal.

Here he is enjoying a stalk of broccoli.

First Words

Louis's first words are hi and cat (cah). He also says dada, Leah (eh-yah), mama and is beginning to say them to us. More so dada to Matt, I get mamas when he's hungry.cranky and looking to nurse.

He says hi and waves. He is also learning there is a difference between hi and bye.

He is clapping and claps when he is excited. He slams his hands down on the table when he is excited and wants to eat.

Other than when he is cranky from teething or tired or from being gassy he is still the happiest baby around. His temperant is so incredibly low key and laid back. He loves to cuddle.

He can go a few days without talking and then he has a very talkative day or two.

He is becoming more assertive and showing when he is upset. We try not to laugh when he does it because we don't want to encourage it but it really is very cute.

La Musica Es En La Sangre

The music is in the blood...at least that is how it is in my family. I don't know a single member of my family who isn't musically inclined and/or talented. It is a must in our family to learn how to read music, compose it and learn to play an instrument. You learn it, hate it, learn to love it and then learn to dance to it. My dad's choice is Salsa and percussion.

Every visit to his house means a music lesson for Leah and now Louis. Louis loves his Abuelo's drums.

Leah showing Louis the ropes. Bongos look easy enough but there is a specific way to play them. It is something you need to learn. How you hit them, with what part of your hand, the tone changes with every move of your hand across the bongo.

My LIl Rocker

Feel asleep while playing

Mohawk after his bath, all smiles

If I ask Louis 'how old are you going to be?' he puts his pointer finger. So cute. By the time his birthday rolls around he should know how old he is. He was yelling at me in this picture.

Smiling again:)

He uses my cellphone more often than I do.
