Fave Spots - White Post Farms

As one can see from all the posts in these blogs we visit White Post Farms a lot throughout the year. During the summer it is a great place with water slides and bouncers on the weekends. Matt was busy this weekend painting and renoving our downstairs bathroom so I needed to get the kids out of the house for a few hours. This was the perfect thing to do.

Louis is just learning how to wait in line. Overall he did pretty well. He cut a once or twice but quickly learned it wasn't okay to do.

Leah was playing dress-up and putting on a photo shoot so Louis jumped in.

Sensory Play w/Food

After our morning body painting activity we washed up and headed over to the pool terrace area and had some lunch. We shared one of his favorite lunch meals, broccoli bites with French dressing dip, fruit salad and yogurt.

After lunch Louis asked to play outside some more. I put out a few things for him to choose from. He ended up with colored rice and pasta.

 He brought out his animals.

Body Painting

Put my Pinterest Pins to work today. I have quite a few pins on my 'Play w/the Kids' board that I go to for ideas. I was looking for activities to do with the boys outside and came across a few body painting pins. This post from the blog Play Create Explore looked promising.

I set it up outside on our driveway after some play at the water table.

2 foil pans with some paint and a canvas drop cloth I use for painting projects around the house.

Louis who is typically anti-getting messy initially was all over this activity. His hands went right into the paint.

Eventually he opted for painting his body parts and using them to paint the sheet with.

He wanted every single last bit of paint.

Overall it was a successful project. I used paint labeled "washable" but found that it was a bit stubborn when I washed it off the driveway. I had to scrub it a bit but Louis did most of that with a small brush. Thankfully our neighbor lent us her hose so I could wash the boys and driveway off. They absolutely loved the hose so I know I really need to hurry up and get one for our house.

Louis thought this was the coolest thing ever. He can't wait to do it again.
