Louis couldn't wait to get to the zoo. It was one of the hotter days on our trip and a bit humid out. The Toronto Zoo is large and it includes quite a bit of walking to get around all it's exhibits. Fortunately we weren't in any rush as this was our down day. The plan was to hit the zoo and spend the morning and afternoon there, have the kids play in the splash pad for an hour or so and head back to the hotel for the rest of the evening.
The exhibits were well put together and gave plenty of access to the animals for viewing. Louis enjoyed watching the different animals at each exhibit.
He really loved the butterflies. The kids and Matt said this was one of the best butterfly houses they'd ever been to.
The tigers were up close and Louis picked them as one of his favorites.
Louis grabbed a ride on my back a few times.
By the time we got to the children's zoo and the splashpad it was pretty obvious that Louis had enough and needed to cool off. We cut the visit to the children's zoo short and headed over to the sprinkler/splash pad. He played happily for the next two hours or so. Afterward we headed over to the gift shop. Louis picked out a water bottle for himself and one for Gabriel as a souvenir of their visit.
Once back at the hotel the kids watch some television and rested while I finished up some laundry. Then Matt took Leah and Louis for a swim at the hotel room. Louis loved the pool. It was very deep and he got a kick out of having a big pool like that all to himself.
