Babies and Colic

Colic is defined as "If your baby cries about the same time each day and nothing you do seems to offer comfort, your baby may have colic. Colic is often defined as crying more than three hours a day, three days a week for more than three weeks in an otherwise well-fed, healthy baby."

We have entered what I hope will be a short-lived colic period with the baby. He has about a 2-3 hour crying jag in the late morning/early afternoon and then again in the early evening. Thanks to Leah I have had a lot of practice coping with crying jags. Leah was colic right around this point as well. Thanks to the chronic insomnia I've suffered from as a child the lack of sleep isn't as bad as it could be.

This too shall pass. In the meantime he will be living in my Maya Sling. It seems to be the only thing that really soothes him.
