Blondie Boy

Louis continues to be blonde with gray eyes. I keep expecting to wake up one day to darker hair and eyes. But it hasn't happened. He continues to be our little fair boy.

Not sure who he looks like. With Leah I could see myself or Matt in her face but with this baby I have a hard seeing either of us.

Teething

The baby is teething and the only two things that seem to provide him with any relief are nursing (not fun being gnawed at O_O) and his own hand. His hand isn't a problem for the most part except that he shoves it so far into mouth & down his throat and ends up gagging.

Leah cut her first tooth when she was about 8 months old. I wonder if Louis will cut his earlier on.

Swinging along

Louis has finally started to enjoy being in his swing for longer periods of time. About 15 minutes or so which is more than enough time during the day, it allows me a chance to eat breakfast, make some lunch, or just answer emails. Only issue we have with the swing is that for some reason the tray refuses to stay closed. I have contacted Graco about it and am awaiting their reply.

First trip to White Post Farms

We went to White Post Farms today. Louis slept through the first half our trip there and had little interest in any of the animals. He people watched for a bit after I woke him up to take a picture with Leah & the Easter Bunny. We will still be taking pictures with the Easter Bunny at Broadway Mall. Hopefully we will have better luck with Mr. Grumpy.

Sleeping all day is very exhausting for a baby, leads to more sleeping at home.

Mom & Baby

I noticed that I don't have many pictures of Leah & myself...I don't show up well in pictures, not at all. Leah & Louis get their photogenic genes from Matt (who rarely ever seems to have a bad photo).

Here are some of me & the baby at Tobay today.

3 month Well Baby Visit

We took the baby to see his pediatrician today. All went well. The baby is now 14.6 lbs & 24.5 inches. That puts him in the 75th percentile for size for both weight & length. He is growing well. Seems to be hitting all the developmental milestones without a problem. He handles his shots like a trooper, within seconds he was back to being the giggling, babbling baby.

Next visit won't be till May.

3 months!

I can hardly believe it has been 3 months since Louis was born. He is a happy & healthy boy. Couldn't ask for more than that.

3 Month Developmental Milestones

Movement Milestones

* Raises head and chest when lying on stomach - he is getting much better at this especially if he has someone to entertain him laying in front of him.
* Supports upper body with arms when lying on stomach
* Stretches legs out and kicks when lying on stomach or back - he loves kicking his legs.
* Opens and shuts hands
* Pushes down on legs when feet are placed on a firm surface - not only does he push down but he also tries to stand.
* Brings hand to mouth - he does this and sucks on his hand, sometimes shoving his fist so far into his mouth he chokes himself. He is teething so I think it provides him with some relief.
* Takes swipes at dangling objects with hands - he just started doing this, keeps him entertained while in his carseat
* Grasps and shakes hand toys - shook & played with his first toy the other day, he shook the rattle lovey Leah got him.

Visual and Hearing Milestones

* Watches faces intently
* Follows moving objects
* Recognizes familiar objects and people at a distance
* Starts using hands and eyes in coordination
* Smiles at the sound of your voice
* Begins to babble
* Begins to imitate some sounds
* Turns head toward direction of sound

Social and Emotional Milestones

* Begins to develop a social smile
* Enjoys playing with other people and may cry when playing stops - he is enthralled with people, he rarely fusses but will cry his head off if you do not pay attention to him when he wants you.
* Becomes more communicative and expressive with face and body - he is definitely showing more of his personality as he grows older.
* Imitates some movements and facial expressions - if Leah makes funny faces at him he tries to imitate them. Very cute.

Louis & his Lovey

Leah bought this lovey for her lil brother a few months before he was born. Today he was hanging out in his bouncy seat holding onto it and shaking it. It is also a rattle. He feel asleep with it. Too cute.

Louis has started to reach for us when he wants us. Or as in this case when he is crying cause he needs a diaper change. I love this outfit my mom got him. Leah has a matching tie dye set.

Signs of Spring are here

We went out for a walk today with one of our neighbors & her lil 6 month old daughter. It was so nice being out after spending all Winter indoors. The fresh air knocked him out.

He wore a trendy outfit Leah helped pick out for him from H&M, one of her favorite clothing stores.



Then he woke up, ate and...


...went back to sleep.


Then he woke up and was all smiles :D
