A Boy & His Hats

Louis loves hats. He cannot get enough of them. Between his birthday, Chanukah and Christmas? He has added quite a few to his collection. To get him out of the house when we are heading out somewhere one of the easiest ways to convince him to cooperate? Is to ask him what hat he wants to wear.

A while back he saw a rainbow hat he liked and asked for one. We ended up with two different styles. Picked out matching hats for Leah and Gabriel as well.

Christmas Evening Family Photos

Our second attempt at Christmas Family Photos, all dressed up.

Christmas Presents!

Is there anything better than watching children get all excited over opening presents? Never gets old.

Louis is very serious while opening his gifts. He concentrates on getting the paper off neatly and then proceeds to inspect his gifts one by one as they are opened.

Opening some gifts on Christmas Eve.

Gifts wrapped and set out for the morning.

Christmas Morning Family Photos

We attempted to take some family photos this morning of the kids together. The kids all cooperated as best they could. I really love how the photos turned out.

Thomas Fun

Louis put these pjs on and now refuses to take them off. He loves them.

He also loves Leah's Christmas tree. I'll be picking one up for Louis (smaller one) so he can hang up his own miniature ornaments on it as well. Guess eventually I'll end up doing the same for Gabriel.

Look Who's Two?!

Two years ago Louis joined our family.

He was the long awaited little brother to Leah. I remember how since Leah could first talk she stated she wanted a younger sibling. Then all her preschool friends began to have little brothers and sisters and then she became rather adamant we get to work. Leah was the center of our lives for 5 years before Louis came along. I know everyone tells you that you will love the next child just as much but how do you truly know?

Well it is true. I love Louis, just as much as I love Leah. I didn't think that would be possible. But it is. He is such a joy in our lives. He is almost always smiling and happy. Even when things seem to be falling apart and a bit insane at home, he runs around with a big smile planted on his face. He is affectionate and lovable, yet also rough & tumble at times.

I cannot believe how well he speaks, every day I pick up on another 10 or so words I notice are new to his vocabulary. His articulation is spot on most of the time.

It warms my heart to see how much love he has for everyone who is special in his life. He loves on his brother all day long and cannot possibly adore his big sister more than he already does.

I'm looking forward to year 2 with Louis. I expect it is going to be amazing.

2nd Birthday Fun!

Louis spent the day with Grandma Ruth while I helped out at the Holiday Boutique at Leah's school. When Matt came home from work we headed out to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate. Our local Chuck E. Cheese recently underwent some minor renovations, adding new games and fixing up their playground. It was a weekday night so it wasn't terribly busy. There were a few other families celebrating birthdays.

Back home Louis opened his birthday present.

Red Velvet & Cheesecake Cake

Leah bought the boys some gifts from the Holiday Boutique at school. A Kung Fu Panda pen Louis had to have when he was there on Monday.  Also a plush caterpillar for Gabriel.
