2 Year Old Milestones

Milestones for a 24 month old according to Babycenter.com

Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
Names at least six body parts -- He can name most and learns new ones every day. We're learning bones now.
Half of speech is understandable -- Depends on who is doing the lisyening but overall I'd say more than half in understandable.
Makes two- to three-word sentences

Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
Talks about self -- he's always telling me how he feels, what his name is etc.
Arranges things in categories -- I noticed he is arranging his toys into color groups or by shapes.
Can walk down stairs -- He mastered stairs months ago.

Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
Begins to understand abstract concepts (e.g., sooner and later)-- If I tell Louis later he says "in a minute?" and will wait a while before asking again.
Becomes attuned to gender differences -- he points out girls and boys
Learns to jump -- He can jump

Some Milestones according to The American Academy of Pediatrics

Development

Opens doors.
Kicks a ball.
Can wash and dry hands.
Climbs on furniture.
Uses a spoon and cup well. -- And fork and knife
Asks frequent questions: "What is that?"
Enjoys imitating adult activities.
Selects and uses a toy appropriately (feeds a doll, hammers pegs in a cobbler's bench).
Most 2-year-olds have a vocabulary of 50 or more words, although this number varies with the sex of the child (girls speak more than boys), if the child has older siblings (who will speak for him or her) or if two languages are spoken in the house. -- Louis speaks a lot and has for quite some time now. I was surprised because I have found that the younger child does often speak less.
