This weather in Pennsylvania this time of year is typically well on its way to winter weather. Though the past few weeks have been moderate we knew this weekend was going to be one of the coldest PA had seen since last February. It was the only free weekend we had so off we went. I packed extra cold weather clothes and hoped for the best. Louis was looking forward to the trip and to staying overnight in a hotel room. Made him feel extra special.
We headed out after Leah's dance classes, had a quick lunch and drove the two hours. It was dark when we arrived to Sesame and the kids got really excited when they saw the entrance. A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place, all decked out for the holidays.
The plan was to enjoy meeting a few characters, the lights, rides and the parade. The weather was chilly but with a few extra layers the kids felt fine. Louis couldn't wait to go on the rides and loved that it wasn't very busy. He felt like he had the park to himself.

After the parade we headed over to our hotel. We had a decent room with two beds, clean and warm. The kids quickly changed into their pajamas and as usual Louis was the first one asleep. You really don't have to tell him twice that it is bedtime.
We had a good start to what would be a cold day, nice warm breakfast. We spent the early afternoon at the local mall, had some lunch and went back to Sesame Place.
We spent some time on the rides and meeting some characters again.
To warm up a bit we headed to the Elmo's World Live! Happy Holidays Show. Louis was lucky and was chosen to be a part of the show. He didn't feel like dancing but he did clap along. He felt extra special.
After the show Gabriel was showing signs of being tired. We walked around some more and eventually he fell asleep. I went to grab some coffee and stay warm while Matt went on more rides with Leah and Louis.
We met up at the Dine with Me location for dinner with the characters. It was the perfect way to end the evening. The kids warmed up, filled up on some yummy food, had fun with the characters. They slept most of the drive back home.
